If you have lived or worked outside of the UK you are subject to the same DBS checks as other school and college staff in the UK, as well as additional checks of your history overseas. Schools and colleges can use the NCTL Teacher Services system to check for sanctions or restrictions imposed by an European Economic Area (EEA) professional regulating body.  While restrictions imposed by international bodies don’t prevent teachers from taking a UK teaching role, the colleges and schools must take circumstances into consideration.
